Depending on how many people/pets are living in your home it is recommended that your carpets are vacuumed 2-4 times per week!  It seems like a lot, but dirt builds up quickly.  A majority of the contaminants in your carpet are "dry", which means vacuuming is an easy maintenance strategy to keep your home cleaner, for longer.

It's recommended that floor mats are used at each entrance to your home.  An area rug, or "runner", can be placed in an entry hallway to provide additional soil removal.

It's your home, and your rules!  But if you'd like to prolong the life of your carpet and keep your floors clean, we suggest removing shoes at the door or mudroom.

While you do your best to maintain the quality and cleanliness of your floors, it's highly recommended to have them professionally cleaned 1-2 times per year (depending on the number of home occupants/dogs/cats).  In many cases your carpet's factory warranty will require regular professional carpet cleaning.

We won't name them, but most popular pet stain products you can find at a store are a very temporary solution and can cause long term damage to your carpets.  These products use artificial brighteners and most people don't have adequate equipment to fully extract the product once it's been sprayed into the carpet.

Over time, the product residue will become more alkaline (higher PH).  This can strip the colors from the fiber and lead to browning around the borders.  The damage can be permanent!

Pet urine, vomit, and other associated stains are organic of nature and protein based.  These require special enzymes and peroxide solutions to completely eliminate.  Over the counter solutions most often won't address the root cause of the odor.

In a spray bottle, create a mixture of 1 cup water, 1 cup white vinegar, and 2 teaspoons of baking soda.  Spray onto the affected area and let dwell for 10 minutes.  Take a rag or towel, and blot the stain continually until removed.

Scrubbing will increase the size of the stain and grind the contaminants deeper into the carpet.  Rinse and repeat the blotting technique but be careful not to overwet.
